Of course I am !!

I bought a pair of these in 1986 and had them until around 2004/5. Very underrated speaker at the time but becoming more appreciated as time goes by.

Mine were on swivel wall brackets but the same mounting principles apply. The long screw was actually supplied with the speaker from new but of course have long since been discarded along with the mounting plates!

Re: Redline 140's (6501) OEM stand installation?

You are absolutely right, it worked like a charm!
Hey Bud,

Do you have some screw or screw(s) on the back of the speakers? They allow you to angle the speakers. I finally figured out how to put together my speakers stands by trial and error.

Could you elaborate on how you managed to angle it? I'm going nuts trying to figure out how I'm supposed to get the speakers hanging at a decent angle!

When I hang the speaker on the floor stand, it points downwards towards the floor. I'd like for it to hang straight or maybe point slightly upwards, but without modding the stand I can't see any solution.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Redline 140's (6501) OEM stand installation?

Hey Bud,

Do you have some screw or screw(s) on the back of the speakers? They allow you to angle the speakers. I finally figured out how to put together my speakers stands by trial and error.

Re: Redline 140's (6501) OEM stand installation?

Hey,

First, push wire speaker braket back in place so it is flush.

Tthe speaker back(where you attached the wires) hangs on the 2 hooks on the speaker bracket. Of course, you would have to screw them either to the floor or some kind of a stand plate

$300 for the refoaming work doesn't sound too outrageous to me; there are four woofers, so it is a lot of work. You could also have the capacitors of the crossovers replaced while they are open, I hear it can be quite an improvement.

Re: Redline 140's (6501) OEM stand installation?

As with all speakers, the speaker should be mounted so that the tweeter is at the same height as your ears when seated in your normal listening position.

For my RL60s, I originally wall mounted them so I didn't purchase them with stands. Later I purchased some speaker stands (non B&O) and adapted them to hold the speakers.

Since that time I have, on a couple of occasions, contemplated getting some 'proper' B&O stands from eBay but each time I have changed my mind as I don't think they look as attractive as mine.
