Yes it is like that. Personally i pay for an item immediatly because i don't like waiting to recieve an item hehe! but he said he was being cautious, which is understandable, i recieved email that the payment has been sent so as soon as it's cleared i can send it.

Now comes the part where i discover shipping will be hundreds hahaha!! never mind

It sucks huh.... I always make sure I pay straight away, as I expect the same treatment back.... Same with postage, I send quickly because I expect others to. I think some people treat eBay as a game.....

Hey thanks, it's good that it went for 2000 because it's going to cost alot more than 85 dollars to send it, what was i thinking! Oh well, now i just need to buyer to actully pay, which he seems to be putting off doing, ick selling on ebay is stressful!

I am in Melbourne, and as a guide I sold mine on ebay with a white cover for about $1200.00 add approx. $150 - $200 for the Beo4, another $100 for the extra cover and another $300 for the stand. Postage will be difficult, so I suggest that you offer the buyer to arrange their own courier to collect and in the meantime try and find a couple of boxes big enough!! Just take good clear pictures of each item, and start the bidding at what you want for it so that it doesn't sell too low....

Yeah that's true, it really is a niche here, i put it down to our culture. We have more of an outdoor lifestyle unlike most other countries in Europe so it isn't common to have people here willing to pay so much money for AV with beautiful quality and design.

Thanks alot for the encouragement, the address is ok, it's my partners old address. It was a christmas present to me actually, until we broke up where then i payed for the amount, hehe!

It's a bit of a shame that i'm loosing over 1000 dollars just for having it in my bedroom for occassional use over a period of only 1 year... the beocenter1 was such a bargain that it takes the sting out of these thoughts.

Might be good idea to remove or mask your actual adress from the invoice for privacy reasons.

Otherwise the AD looks pretty good!

The pre-loved market for B&O products on the Australian market is so small. I find that eBay has a small crowd that actually appreciates the brand unlike the UK there is a few reseller for the pre-loved items. We have nothing here like the UK.

After a fair bit of procrastination - i don't want to sell it!!!! [:'(] - i've finally put my beautiful BS1 on ebay.

I would be put off from buying on eBay if the seller did not offer PayPal (or asked me pay in a different way). I only ever pay via PayPal or in cash upon collection of the item.

If the seller says he is not okay with using PayPal then I will just find another auction.

Dave, I think you should offer a delivery option (obviously you'll need to have an estimate P&P budget. It doesn't need to be exactly correct, but it should be fair).

Most important thing however is that your item description is accurate and well detailed. Auctions with a few clear photos and a decent item description will sell well. Because of the excellent condition of your item, it will be unlikely that someone will bid at random on your auction because that person is generally after a cheap bargain! As your BeoSound 1 is so new, in excellent condition and comes with a few extras too, I think your future buyer will have recently made the decision he/she is after a BeoSound 1 and will be looking around eBay for a while to see what comes up. Therefore, put your listing up for the longest period of time (10 days - there is no extra fee for this) to maximise the amount of views your auction receives.

I'm happy to send it overseas! The aussie dollar is really weak at the moment so who knows. Postage will cost a little, but it won't be me that pays for it it will be the buyer...

Sorry, should have clarified....

I gave info on the basis that Dave would be selling to Australia only due to the size and weight. It would not really be feasable to post the unit overseas for tho following reasons:

1 box for the Beosound alone (quite heavy and big $$ postage and insurance)
plus another box for extra cover and accessories (not too heavy so ok)
plus another box for the stand (quite large, but not too heavy still = big $$ postage and insurance)
The fragile nature of the goods
The cost of goods thereby the increased risk of loss

Paypal is mandatory as part of the listing, but as a seller I would try and steer the buyer away from using it (Just a piece of advice from a sellers perspective). If a buyer insists on using Paypal, then I wouldn't knock it back either. Although 3% is no biggie, I'd prefer the $50+ in my pocket than in Paypal's pocket!!!

If you sell it locally I can understand the option to exclude Paypal.

Paypal takes around 3%, so no biggie.

I would never buy anything of ebay anymore from a seller that don't accept paypal. I judge Paypal as a safer way to pay. A 1000 dollar plus item on ebay and no paypal, I would skip it in a heartbeat.

I would suggest you use Paypal if you are offering it to international buyers. Locally a simple bank account is probably enough.

Don't be scared.... just remember not to give it away. Also, ask the buyer to pay by bank deposit. Paypal is expensive and they have the power to take funds back from you. If the $$ are in your bank account, no one can scam you or try to get an unjustified refund. Don't be afraid to give your bank details to the successful bidder.
