With that setting I can not control the volume when I start the CD. Also the TV starts only in mono.

It suddenly makes sense that there were no difference to switch to opt.3

I have now systematically tried all combination of settings and I now hav v.opt.1 and a.opt.2 with this setting the CD works fine and the TV turns on in 3 channel mode, the Pentas starts automatically and if I want 5 channel I only press sound5. Good enough!

The beotech side is great, lot of information there I had forgotten that one!

Now when I finally have this working it is time for instalation of the next gadget. BeoLink PC2, I am not sure how, or even if this will work with my setup. But probably I will find out soon with some help from Beoworld

Thank you for the support!

Re: AV9000 Audio Kit question

Turbo, you tested a lot of option settings, but not that one I recommended. BTW there is NO PICTURE 3 setting at all. You will find OPT - 0 = IR receiver disabled, OPT 1 = responds only to their "own" cmmands (A.OPT 1 responds to audio commands, V.OPT 1 responds to video commands).

OPT 2 responds to audio AND video commands. OPT 1 and 2 are settings for master. OPT 5 and 6 are settings for link rooms (BL3500, BL2000, Link TVs...). OPT 5 is similiar to OPT1, OPT6 similiar to OPT2. See also beotech site.

Now set whole system to standby. Press PICTURE - 2 - STORE. Watch the red Standby LED flashing(AV9000). Press SOUND - 0 - STORE. Watch the red Standby LED flashing (BM7000). Press CD. CD7000, BM7000, AV9000 and front speakers - stereo- should start.

If not, connect a PL cable to the Powerlink socket of the BM7000 and the other end to the Powerlink socket of the 1610 converter.

For the rear spakers (MCL2P) you will need a fully wired ot a special Powerlink cable.

Good Luck

Also the TV starts only in mono setting although I have changed the setting on the TV to Dolby surround.

With picture1 and sound0 I can not even start the CD, TV starts only with the center speaker.

With picture3 and sound0 I can not even start the CD, TV starts only with the center speaker.

With picture4 and sound0 I can not even start the CD, TV starts only with the center speaker.

With picture2 and sound1 the CD works althogh it starts in mute, TV starts only with the center speaker.

Both set on 0 I can not start the CD.

Is there some place were the options are explained?

The setup is Beosystem7000, AV9000 Penta as fronts connected to the Beomaster and CX100 as rears through MCL 2P connected to the TVs rear powerlink socket. SW 1.37 (two way) on TV and SW 1.0 on Beomaster. I have beolink1000, Beolink7000 and MCP5500 as remotes.

I am very thankfull to every input here!

Re: AV9000 Audio Kit question

As far as a converter goes it depends on on what year the AV9000 is from.

Mine is from '98 and its a IMP version with 3.0 software. I asked the B&O shop about using a 1611 converter as I allready had one and for the IMP version you must use the 1611 if using an audio system other than the MVAP9000.

So I'm using the 1611 with a Beomaster 6500 and it works brilliantly together.

As I got no Beolab speakers I'm using optoion 1 on both audio and video system.

Beo4: Press Stdby and List at the same time, select V.OPT (arrow up) 2 and A.OPT (arrow up) 0.

Your system will start in SPEAKER2 mode (front speakers) , if you choose an audio source and SPEAKER3 (center and front) in video mode.

Hope this helps.

I installed the 1610, purchased 2 years ago. Time flies....

I have some troubles though. It is totaly worth it just to see that the telivision display says what track and what source I am playing on the bm7000, even when the telivision is turned off.

The TV and stereo is in the same room. But I am still confused about what option settings I should use. I have not found any information on what the setting on the television should be and how to change this. I have been trying randomly but it hapends strange things

I discovered one setting that made the cd player skip 2 tracks when pressing skip, and also the bm7000 started in mute and not in the preset volume... I have now lost track of all settings and need some advice. The positon switch on the 1610 is set on 3.

What I would like is that when I turn the TV on the Pentas starts as stereo speakers, and also the rear active speakers as surrounds. When I start the CD, only the pentas should start. Powerlinks to the pentas are now connected to the bm7000.
