Hi Steve,

thank you for your reply; In fact, I will move into our new house within the next 4 weeks (if it's finished then, hopefully...) where my century WILL get an external FM aerial (even in nowaday's digital days...). It has the attached active aerial right now.

I'm using it as an alarm clock 'til then and it's terrible noise instead of music in the early morning (although this might be good for getting angry but awake )

So this will be solved within a short time but it would be interesting for me if there's a mono setting, even for 4 weeks only...

As B&O is very logical (so am I) I've tried all button combinations that seem logical to me but there was no success. As there are many beophiles around here there's possibly someone having found (I dare to say h*cked?...) this option.

Hi Hemenex,

I'm not sure about a mono/stereo option (I don't ever remember seeing this in the menu), but I know that the built-in aerial is often not up to the job of giving good radio reception. Why not try a good external aerial (either a portable active aerial in the room or a fixed high-gain version on your roof) and that should give you good quality stereo reception - better than mono any day!

BS century question: mono/stereo?

Hello out there you BS2000 / century specialists...

I have a bad FM radio reception this morning due to fog & snow weather and my BS century is constantly switching between mono and stereo mode. Reception is ok while mono but terrible while stereo. Reading through all available manuals (even from this site) I couldn't find any way to set it to mono mode only; something that even the cheapest radios use to have :-(

Or am I just not smart enough to find it? Didn't see this possibility even in the service mode.

Any ideas?
