Hi Phil,

Sorry to be picky, but mark 3 cable is fine for all ICE Power (Digital) Beolab speakers except Beolab 5. I agree with everything else you said!

Hi t,

Any version of Powerlink cable will work with Beolab 6000 (it is basically the model of speaker which dictates the version you need). I have written a guide to the various types of Powerlink here. If you are considering installation of the cables in the walls, floor or ceiling of your home, I would always recommend mark 2 "fully wired" cables, as these will work with any other Beolab speakers you may decide to buy in the future.

MKIII is thinner as it does not transport the display information.

MKII is the thick cable and is more expensive. It is necessary when you have speakers with display (Penta, Beolab 4500) or speakers with ICEPower amplifiers.

If you are going to do some building work to hide them, or if you plan to upgrade later to newer speakers get the MKII otherwise the MKIII is enough.

Thanks for quick responses - having just looked at good old ebay mk1 mk2 or mk3 cables - or will any mk do?

You can connect both cables from the beosound to the speakers, or you can have one cable to a speaker and then another cable from one speaker to the other.

You will need electricity cables going to each speaker. They come from any socket near the speakers, not necessarily from the hi-fi itself.

2 PowerLink Cables, and 3 Mains cords. That will do it!

Hi all

As an active (speaker) virgin so to speak do i just need 2x powerlink(8pin) cables to get the system working ie bs -> bl(1) -> bl(2)

Apologies for what is likely a very simple question but having looked at the manuals, beoworld based, i am still a mite confused
