While reading your original post I also see the BV3 has no powerlink sockets, so in fact the speakers would be unused unless there is an Ouverture the room as well to connect the speakers too.

Maybe she is better off with her old TV!

You are right, you will not be able to play th Beosound Century through the speaker that are connected to the TV.

You will not be able to turn off the Beosound century when the TV is played. You'll have to press CD, Red dot, to turn the Century off.

Thanks guys for the responses - I'm a bit confused with some of the technical terms !! sorry

I'm assuming then it will not be possible to play the Soundcentury through the speakers which are currently connected to the TV?

Is there a way then to be able to at least enable the Soundcentury to be turned off if the TV / DVD etc button is pressed on the remote?

You could send the Headphone socket from the BV into the A-AUX IN of the BS.
But I would not recommand it as it would not bring any benefit considering you have Beolab speakers.
Buy a cheap Beosound 3000 or Ouverture of eBay...

Aux is only connection, input only.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the forum! I think you will struggle to connect the Century to anything, as (from memory), I don't think it has any input sockets. The Century is best considered as a portable, stand-alone music player, rather than part of a linked system.

As your BeoVision 3-28 has a couple of Powerlink sockets fitted, this would allow your Beolab 4000 speakers to be connected directly to it if required. This would also sound better than playing the TV through the Century speakers (which is not going to be easy to do!)

Maybe someone else has an alternative suggestion?

Master Link / Power Link Connection problem

Hi Guys my first post here hopefully someone could help me out with this problem.

I have given my old TV (BEO 3-28) to my mother-in-law. She already had a Soundcentury which has a powerlink socket on the back but my TV has a Masterlink socket on the back of that but no powerlink socket.

Is there a way to connect the soundcentury to the tv with some sort of master link - powerlink adaptor etc or any other solution to this. At present if she uses the remote to turn on the soundcentury radio for example then decides to watch tv the radio won't switch off or visa versa.

Her old TV does have two pwerlink sockets in the back of it although the BEO 3-28 has a space for them but has the plastic covers over the space. As an Idea I had - would it be feasable / possible to take the powerlink moudule out of her old tv and put it in the new one?

Hopefully I have explained my problem well enough to understand !!

Just so you know the full set up is

BEO 3-28 TV
Beolab 4000 Speakers
Soundcentury

I would be grateful for any advice anyone could offer
