As far as I know, the AV7000 is a Beomaster 7000, but with the ability to drive 5 speakers in Dolby Pro Logic sourround (No Dolby-digital or DTS). They are pretty hard to come about as far as I know. I suppuse a beosystem 3 and some active speakers would solve your problem, but it is not a cheap solution.
I suppose others on this forum know the AV7000 better than I.

Same box, but innards are completely different. Also only one way and only the centre channel has a power amplifier output. The manuals are on site if you want to have a look.

Just spoken to my dealer ( Stirling) and he has confirmed that it wouldnt be any use to me.

We were talking about the possibilty of a Beolab2 to see how I get on with that. I know I owuldnt get 5:1 but it would be an improvement on what I have now.

Though the AV7000 looks identical to the BeoMaster 7000, it's actually a separate video master that must be linked with either MCL (Datalink and Powerlink) or ML (via a BeoLink adapter.) The biggest problem will be figuring out if your equipment can be controlled by the very limited STB controller which the AV7000 uses. There is an image somewhere on the old site that lists the latest software revision (2.0.6). I highly doubt any flat-panel displays are listed, but it's possible that Samsung kept their control codes consistent from the CRT range. The other problem is that the AV7000 wants to use composite video for source switching, though you can work around that if you try hard.

I would only consider the AV7000 if you live in North America, and then probably only in conjunction with a Lintronic to really provide the modern device control you need.

Are you in the US? If not, forget it! Look for a Beosystem 1 or 2 instead assuming that your Set will accept a DVI input for the screen. They are quite cheap now as the Beosystem 3 is clearly superior.

The AV7000 is a US only model (I know there were a few European prototypes!) and is not suited to a PAL based system. It will also be 110V. The user and set up manuals are on site. It is also only Dolby Pro-Logic.

I purchased a Beosound 9000 , with 4000's a couple of weeks ago and love them but I've given up my old surround sound system.

I've got a Samsung 40 inc LCD which is fairly new so I dont want to (cant really) get rid of it just now.I;'ve been looking around and seen the AV7000 and it looks like exactly what I need.

Can anyone give me some info on this?
