You could also use a single BL4000, attenuated down from the AV7000's amplified output with a special cable, and fed into the 4000's Line In. Or, for that matter, a brand-new BeoLab 4...

I take it that you have both the set up and user manuals for your AV7000? It gives you basic information and tells you how to use it with a Beolink 1000. Both on site.

How stable are the B&O amplifier sections on say the AV7000?? I know it's rated for 8 ohms????

Actually the centre speaker is driven by the AV7000. B&O used a CX100 in their pictured set up. Good speaker for speech, which is what it will be dealing with.

Thanks for correcting me, Peter. Just went to the Beosystem AV7000, after I read your post. Beoworld can be very instructive...

One thing is sure: you should always put the speakers that are more powerfull to the front.I don't know the Pentas very well, but I just checked on the product site, and they seem to have more power than the 8000s, so the right choice would be Pentas to the front and 8000s to the rear. (but I may be corrected)

As a center speaker, I suggest a BL7-1 or 7-2, if you want to keep it B&O.

B&O home theatre question

Thanks to all for having this board, i can only imagine what it would be like trying to find answers for all this stuff 15 years ago..

My question is, on arrangement of speakers for home theatre. I've currently got the set of Penta 1's and a set of 8000's. I know the 8000's are truly active..so would they go in front or the Penta's.

Bass is not a problem, i've also got 2 X 15 inch powered subs at 500w RMS each taking a RCA off the AV7000 processor.

I also need a good center speaker.
