Thanks, done it successfully and as suspected the foam surrounds are shot. I dont see an obvious place on the Recone Labs (Richard Allan) website to purchase a replacement kit. Is there an alternative source - there are ads on ebal but I dont know how reliable.

A wide spatula inserted between the cloth grill and the alu trim.
Gently pry the grill outwards, a little at a time, working your way around the
grill a couple of times and it will come off nicely.

I'm in a similar position. I want to check the condition of the drivers but the grilles seem stuck fast with very little gap to prize them off without damaging the aluminium trim. Any tips for removing them? I also dont want to break the fibreboard or whatever the backing is made of at the weak points.

Hi and welcome to Beoworld !

The Beovox 2700 and 2702 grilles were originally glued on. No clips and any doublesided sticky stuff found here is not original.

When you are done servicing them, you can glue the grilles back on using small amounts of contact glue, I believe it's called Evostick in the UK. I normally place a drop in each corner and a few spots along the sides, top and bottom rather than one long run. It makes it much easier to get them off the next time.

Beovox 2702 Issues

This morning I picked up a pair of Beovox 2702 speakers from a tat shop for £8. Externally they are fine, but upon removing the grilles I found that the bass surrounds have totally rotted away (which I understand is pretty common). I've emailed Recone Lab - recommended on this site - in this regard and hope to get some replacements in the near future.

The main reason for this post is that the grilles themselves were fastened on with some lengths of double-sided sticky stuff, which I've removed (though they've left a bit of a mess) with the predictable result that the grilles are no longer secured and fall out. I understand that they would have originally been secured in place by clips and wonder if I can still pick some up or whether there are any alternative (and more aesthetically pleasing than blu tack) means by which I can fasten them in place? Any help would be much appreciated!
