....ay there's the rub - do any job which involves undoing screws only and the fear is you might void the warranty!!!

And that's a DIY job? I'm sure my dealer wouldn't be keen if I started to do that myself - there's a good chance it might void the warranty.

It is a D.I.Y. job - the DVD door comes off easily, there are two holes on the underside and you use them to release two clips with a thin-bladed screwdriver - look on the inside of the replacement door that you may buy and all will become clear. However you need a pair of service legs to perform a colour change with the aluminium surround. Screen off, the back off and hey presto! I can only assume that whoever gave the advice that it is cheaper to buy a completely new screen than to change the colour did not quite understand how the aluminium surround and DVD cover actually fit to the BV7 and wanted to sell you a new set!

Tools required: torx set, hex keys, service legs Estimated time: 90 mins for first try.

Easy or difficult? Well medium

Cheap or expensive? About £200-£250.

Right enough, the DVD door probably presents a problem, so I suspect it is not a DIY job. I wondered as I prefer silver, but did wonder whether the titanium might be an option in future. Any good photos out there of the titanium?

Whether this is correct or not, I once asked how 'easy' it was to change my old BV7-32 from a standard aluminium to an all-black finish. I was told it was easier and cheaper to swap out the TV!

It's dead easy to change the speaker covers as Razlaw said. I can't see how it's possible to change the aluminium on a shipped BV7.

The trim looks like it is sandwiched into the TV. Wouldn't the entire TV have to be disassembled to make the change? Also, would the cover for the DVD door be a sperate piece at addition cost? Or is this thread not referring to the MK3?

Also, I see that you have a blue MK3. Any chance you cpuld post a picture? We recently changed our black Beolab 9s to blue and changed the cover on the 7-4 to blue from gray. The gray of the BV7 looks great with the blue 7-4 but I would be interested in seeing the TV itself in blue.

Yes you can change the trim,its around £200 for the out side frame.

Is it possible to change the Aluminium colour trim on a BV7? If so easy or difficult, cheap or expensive?
