If they didn't update the sw or change a module, there's no way your TV could have had this effect....unless you didn't notice it previously.

Re: Beovision 7 and sky

The work involved was to do with the faulty motorised stand, not the TV at all but they had to dismantle all the wiring and take the TV off its stand.

Also, my BV7 is HD ready of course, but I do not have a sky HD box so do not watch anything in HD

Re: Beovision 7 and sky

thorne:

Thanks, that's reassuring but it never used to be like that and the work I mentioned didn't involve any software updates

Are you sure? The dealer can't do a huge amount with your TV apart from sw upgrades. You might not have even noticed?

However, one thing might have changed - they might have changed the HD module in your BV7, which will include the latest sw for the module, which could be the reason for the change.

As I said, it's a really annoying situation and, as you said, it didn't happen in the past. I noticed it after a recent sw upgrade earlier this year. The curtains should open straight in to the TV programme. With Sky, it doesn't. Curtains open and then we have to wait some more for the picture. With SD or digital TV, the curtains open and the picture appears immediately.

Re: Beovision 7 and sky

Thanks, that's reassuring but it never used to be like that and the work I mentioned didn't involve any software updates

I have a mark ii, not a mark iii, I don't knopw whether that's significant

Re: Beovision 7 and sky

http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/152758.aspx

Re: Beovision 7 and sky

No, this is absolutely standard on the BV7 with Sky. It happened with a recent software update. I think sw 4.17.

Reason? The Sky box has to handshake with your TV, so the BV7 doesn't show the image for some time after starting up. It *is* annoying, I know. It never used to be as long as this - sometimes it can be up to 15 seconds after you turn on the TV!

Beovision 7 and sky

Ever since my dealer has done some work on my TV, whenever I go into sky the screen curtain opens to reveal a blank scrren and then the programme appears a couple of seconds afterwards - a small point, perhaps, but annoying nevertheless, because the effect is spoiled. This has never happened before. On terrestrial TV, there is no problem, the curtain opens to reveal the programme being broadcast.

Is it simply a matter of an adjustment in the menu?
