What about a beogram CD 3500? Most work fine, is not too old, easy to operate and the design is very discreete IMO.

Beogram CDX would also be my choice too. Just seems to work very well with older Beomasters IMO.

I'm another to give the CDX a big thumbs up and Medogsfats solution for the left hinge along with Dillen for the electronics is what most of them could benefit from.

The CDX can give just as great sounds as a Beolab 8000 system that is newly serviced. It does not matter if its the Beogram 8002, Beocord 9000 or the Beomaster 8000. It holds up very well and looks way better than the CD50 imo.

CDX better sounding than the CD 7000? That surprises me as the CDX is a very early model, and the specifications of the 7000 are better.

Beogram CDX without a doubt.

The CDX compliments the vintage Beomasters far better than any other (the CD50 runs it a close 2nd)

Things to look out for are dry solder joints, aging capacitors which may need replacing & broken left hand lid hinge (which is repairable by yours truly) None of these problems are insurmountable.

I would say a CDX. I have one with my BM6000 which is very similar to the 4400 and it sounds superb. I have had a CD7000 connected to it but the CDX sounds a lot better and also the looks will be more in keeping with your amp.

Since some days a proud owner of a beomaster 4400 rosewood in near-new-condition, the question is what B&O CD-player to connect to it, there weren't any around in 1977...Any suggestions?
