Yes, these functions work in option 2 which is not really suitable for my configuration. Where there is no teletext signal I find the text button is a way of achieving this (for e.g a V.aux source)

A picture mute function isn't available in the avant.

An alternative is using AV-TV or AV-Vtape etc.

Just add AV to the list in the Beo-4.

Using AV-TV from stand-by the avant starts without using the tube.

From TV to AV-TV, the avant swithes to a dark screen, which will switch off the tube some minutes later.

Is there a way to mute the picture (not switch the tube off) with the TV in option 1? Vsetup>go>picture>go mutes it briefly then it comes back on. This also happens in option 2. This is the annoying thing about beo4 operated B&O sets. With BL1000 it was simply picture>mute
