Sadly I don't. I'm guessing that finding an avant for 300e is near impossible in Finland. As you probably know the Second hand market in Finland has some really messed up asking prices for B&O. Probably due to the limited items on offer.

People asking high 300 euro figure sums for MX4000 sets...

If it's possible for you to go to Sweden and pick up a tv set, I suggest you take a look at www.blocket.se

If you are in the Helsinki area, I've seen from time to time reasonable prices for SH avants in the Kämp B&O store, I'm not sure they have any at the moment. At least I didn't see any when I was there last week to buy the BS9000.

I have an Avant that was bought new back in 1999 I think, and it's still going strong, but with older CRT's I think it's a matter of hit and miss.

1,000 anything... in the uk, anything that costs 1000 euro or dollar equates to 1,000 gbp, so curency doesnt make much of a differences personally when we are talking 'smaller' figures...

The Avant is a great TV, but bayerische is right about an old avant, press:

(MENU - if its on DTV), MENU, SETUP, 0, 0, GO (If i remember correctly)

Then Service Counters, check the age and usage from there...

Are we talking €, $ or £ ?

If he could say give you a 6 months warranty, I could imagine paying at the most 1500 euro.

I've seen top condition 28" avants, (not RF) with vhs (not worth anything) asking prices 300 euro (not from dealers)

So if I where you I would buy a cheap avant, if you can't get a guarantee from your dealer, since all the avants will have a best before date for the picture tube anyway. And older technology (CRT) televisions will get more and more expensive to have repaired. And at some point it will just feel a bit dumb repairing yesterdays technology.

Personally, not more than 1,000... but he will probably tell you 1,500 - 2,000

my dealer eventualy has an Avant 32 or 28 DVD (actualy he doesn't know the size as he hasn't seen the Avant in person) for me from another customer that is switching to LCD.

What price should I pay, what is maximum?

Anything I should beware of when buying or looking at a Avant DVD? Known Bugs or s.th. like this?

As far as the dealer knows it is a "RF" version.
