Therefore if the BeoVision7 is the master, the Avant must be option programmed as a link room tv. That in turn means that sources connected to the Avant can only be accessed in that link room.

To control the Sky box from a link room it will have to be done via the BeoVision7.

As you say you have programmed the BeoVision7 to "never standby". Depending on how old your Avant is, you may not have that option. Early Avants send out a standby signal every 30 minutes so even switching the Sky box on manually meant that the most you would get was 30 minutes before the Avant switched the box off again.

One other point to remember is that if you set the option to "never standby" I think that also means by default "never switch on" as well.

You could have both Sky boxes connected to the BeoVision7 (as long as you haven't got the Freeview module fitted). You can address Sky HD with the DTV command and the Sky+ box with V. AUX. Then you can distribute either box around the link system. with full control.

Hope that makes ense.

Opman

SKY HD SWITCHING OFF IN LINK ROOMS WHEN AVANT IN SWITCHED OFF

We have an AVANT DVD in our lounge connected to a SKYHD + box by scart and also an infrared lead.

The same SKYHD is connected to a Beovision 7 which is the master TV.

In other link rooms we have Beovision 6 TVs.

The problem we have is as follows:
1. Starting with the AVANT switched on viewing SKYHD.
2. Next switch the Beovision 6 on in a link room.
3. Then switch the AVANT off.

This switches the SKYHD off in the link room and we are unable to switch the SKYHD back on in the link room.

Finally, to complicate matters further we also have a normal SKY+ box connected to the Beovision 7 and is able to be used as V Aux on all TVs.

What do we do to enable ourselves to switch off the AVANT without it also switching off the SKYHD everywhere else?

It seems the 'SAT' or DTV button on the remotes when used on the Beovision 6 is sending a 'standby command' to the SKYHD?

The work round we are using at the moment is to press V-AUX on the Beovision 6, this switches on the SKY+ and the SKYHD.

I've set the Beovision 7 to never send a standby message to the SKY HD.

Any advice or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob
