$6000 is £3800. Let's see what it's like when it's in-store. Only 3 weeks before we can preview it, live!

I hope the BM5 part isn't like the BC2 socket box. I didn't look at the tech specs and bought one from my dealer last week. Was surprised how big the socket box is and how hard it is to hide it :(

At first I was very excited about BeoSound 5, now I'm only wondering what BeoMaster 5 will be, because for me BS5 has one major flaw: it is designed only for right-handed people!

All the controls are made with the wheel, and the wheel is on the right-hand side, and as far as I can remember, it is the first time B&O releases something that's asymetrical & completely impossible to use of you are left-handed..I would be surprised if they released another version for left-handed people, like they did with all the Earsets

It's not just 'a fancy MP3 player'. Apple TV is just like any other system out there, you scroll through a list of music with a mediocre-at-best remote and press 'go'. BeoSound 5 is nothing like this!

It's also a hifi product in the truest sense of the word.

This is interresting. The events in Sweden are planned for dates all before the 11:th. :) (http://www.beoevent.se).

The one I'm invited to is onm the 6:th of November. Will try to get some pictures from the event and "beat" the world wide launch planned for the 11:th.. :)

On the subject of if/when to buy - I still haven't heard anything else (except for its ability to play digital music, which I belive most of us already have setups to do, AppleTV, Apple AirportExpress, Sonus, etc. etc. etc.) that the BS5 does? Anyone? Kind of wierd to release a "digital musicplayer" for some €4500 in the year of 2009 (i.m.h.o).

There has been some unconfirmed rumours that the BM1 could be used with BS5 instead of a BM5... So wait until the specs are released before selling it.

No. Me too. But if the BS5 is the same in Beosound range as it is BL5 for the Beolab range it is ok for me.

I've been told that the inside is completly differend,also the new soundcard is a custom build one.
