Hi there

Yes you will need the stb table updating which is simply an eprom swap, not sure how much dealers charge for this, or if they would sell you the chip on its own (comes with instructions!), but its a straightforward job. I think sw. 3.6 or higher has the SKY+ table on it.

Hi all, many thanks for the comments.

When I look on the STB menu it only comes up with Sky Digital as the only option so I'm guessing the software needs updating software to account for a Sky+ option on the STB menu.

The sticker on the back of the Avant says SW 3.51 but is there another way to confirm that using the menu system?

Is it just an EPROM change on the STB controller then?

Hello Guy

As you will have realised when your Sky+ was installed, it uses a different Sky remote. Depending on the age/software level in your Avant, you may be able to simply change the setting in your connections menu. When you assign the scart socket to a decoder, it will automatically take you to a list of available boxes. If Sky+ isn't on the list, you will need to have the software in the Avant upgraded to a later version.

The software isn't to expensive but you will probably need to get your local dealer to fit it.

I think you may need to upgrade your STB controller, dont think a software upgrade will help.

Hi all,

Just upgraded my Sky to a Sky+ box so I can record direct.

Swappedit all over and it all works fine apart from the STB module (allowing me to use the Beo4 remote) now has stopped working.

The LED at the end still works and when I hit DTV on the Beo4 I get the sky showing on the TV but have to use the sky remote to operate it now.

Want to hide the sky box behind on the cradle as before as I have a DVD1 on the shelf.

Is this a know issue? do I need a SW update? or is it just a bit pants?

Any help appreciated.
