Diagnosis: broken tube.

Then we had the idea to take the dolby digital modul and put it into our second B&O (same type nr., no extras, just ML) and decided to take it (the second one) to the dealer. My wife: "Wait, let me clean the screen first!". Ok, so I took the screen off, put the screws somewhere (probably at the same place where all the single socks are...).

I brought the second Beovison 3-32 to the dealer and then the service guy said: modules are sort of married to the chassis, so you can't take one module out and put it into an other tv set - we need a new tube (1.300 Euro!), using the tube of the second chassis (so we could at least have our main tv set in the living room back) costs 400 - 500 Euro...

Can anybody confirm the "marriage" issue??

We won't do the repair, it is not worth it, because tvs are 4-5 years old, used (spare) tube, no warranty etc.

We will sell the normal (no extras) Beovision 3-32 and the defect one (probably on ebay).

And then, we don't know yet, set-up, see signature, but a Beovision 4/5/7/9 is out of our budget. We have been looking at Loewe (nice integration with active B&O speakers, remote controls mac mini and dreambox, too) and are even thinking about AvR + LCD (+ir trans to keep the Beo 4).
Maybe, for the beginning: BS 3000 + BL 6000 as music system, TV + AVR + BL8000 + Sub as 2.1 system.

Thanks again for your offer, very kind. I will send a pm you if there is a need - and I am willing to pay the costs of sending - at least!

Best regards

Ralf

Re: Beovision 3-32 - Screws for attaching the contrast screen

you must have been cleaning it for ages to have forgotton where you put the screws, sounds like a thorough job

if you do get stuck, ill order you a set and pop them in the post for you, no charge

jason

Re: Beovision 3-32 - Screws for attaching the contrast screen

Jason,

thanks for the details!

I will try to find some.

Ralf

Re: Beovision 3-32 - Screws for attaching the contrast screen

hi ralf,

i cant find the part number right now ,

incase this helps ,excluding the head, the length of the screw thread is 17mm, they are the wide angled thread type (similar if not the same as woodscrews) but with a flat tip rather than a pointed tip , outer edge to outer edge of thread is 4mm, ive probably made this sound more complicated than it is.

regards jason

Beovision 3-32 - Screws for attaching the contrast screen

Hello Forum,

I am looking for the size/part nr. of the 4 screws that are needed to attach the contrast screen to the Beovision 3-32.

We dismanteled the screen, cleaned it and somehow the screws got lost...

Any hint is appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Ralf
