I have just seen the set and this is my impression, too. BeoVision 8 actually looks better and better to me every time I see it. I must admit that I was not crazy about the speaker integration at first.

Hello Peter and Svend fans !

Funny how things are.

Since several months, I'm thinking that the day BV8-40 is launched its for me because I whant a bigger screen and it cost what I'm ready to pay for.

Of course, I prefer BV7-40 with BL7-2 but I'm not ready to pay 12.800 € for it.

I don't like the built quality of the set (no contrast screen) but I like for example the curtains and I don't use the motorised stand anymore.

But now that the day as (almost) come, I don't imagine a second get rid of my wonderfull Avant.

The picture is perfect with cable TV or DVD and the sound amazing.

What else ?

Hi Karel, how old is your BV 3? How many days (service menu) has it served you so far? Mine 327 days so far so I hope to enjoy it for several years.

IF my BV3 would break down then I'd go for the BV8-40 without hesitation. But at this point the BV3 is alive and véry kicking... and the € 4K is something that my bankaccount can take at the moment. But I see no reason the switch a fully functioning BV3 for a BV8 at the moment.

B&O's specifications have always been very vague. Surround is included into the 40" version. ML is optional and will set you back around 70€.

Also very curious about the speaker specifications/performance.

Furthermore I understood that the BV8-40 would include a DD/DTS decoder; but the specifications do not show this???
