In FIN I don't remember hearing the frequencies would be used for cellphones, I think it was told that free frequencies are needed to have more digital channels available.

Daniel. I do have a Beovision now (refer to the "Beovision MX 3000 - found from a trash!"-topic. :) I know I could use programmable remotes etc. but my idea was in general level. I remember seeing a Beovisions that have a Topfield receiver mounted vertically on the tv's back! I recon they will get the remote signal thrue the set and from the Beolink? That was on my local B&O shop some year or two ago.

I have a vintage 80's Salora videorecorder with a huge remote controller that can receive other remote's signal and save it to a certain button and then use it there. Somewhy the idea of learning remotes is not used nowadays. (Sorry to go slightly off-topic).

For a Beovision LX5500 I would, too, recommend a Beolink 1000. :)

Re: What remote do I need for a B&O LX5500?

Double post, sorry!

Re: What remote do I need for a B&O LX5500?

Christian:

Daniel:

BMGHB:

Dont buy a Beo4. Extra remote, and extra trouble for the user. Tv's own remote is almost useless, just use it to switch the tv on and off, perhaps volume. You have to fiddle with two remotes, both having control over some functions. On our summerhouse even a slight wind causes "NO SIGNAL" and before that the picture jamms, sound skips - it's SO annoying and frustrating. Then a lot of aerial adjusting and you might have one or two channels working... even if you move in the room it may stop working! The receivers are having low revisions of software and they can just stop working and you have to unplug it to make it work again. Translations of menus are poor, both receivers and remotes are made cheap and feel crap.... list goes on. When working the picture is good - as long as you don't mind the compression, it can be seen in most material.

I miss so much the analogue days...

Re: What remote do I need for a B&O LX5500?

Daniel:

BMGHB:

Dont buy a Beo4.
