If classic FM goes, then you have found the area of the problem.

Re: Strange One for the technical of you

Graham,

If it makes you feel better, there are people in Greensboro, North Carolina USA who can sometimes pick up Radio Free Europe and Voice of America on cast iron cookware!

I agree with the crowd, a bad cable or connection is the likely cause.

Re: Strange One for the technical of you

Hi:

I know nothing of the modern cable and connection standards as I am deliberately staying with CRT. That said, this sounds like a shielding issue with your connections. If you are using scarts (prob not) buy proper shielded ones and the same applies for all other connectors.

I am feeling around in the dark yet am almost certain that this is what it is - my friend had a big Marshall guitar amp, effects pedal and electric guitar all connected up with a mass of tangled phono cables and he could pick faint radio broadcasts too. Whenever there is a mass of cabling connected to speakers this seems to be an issue.

Thanks

Graham

Re: Strange One for the technical of you

Had a similar problem, that stopped when I reconnected properly some scart cables.
