Hi Christian,

I had the same campaign yesterday (mailing) regarding any old CRT TV. It encourages us to swap our old Avant or BV3 (plus the Beo4) for a new LCD or plasma TV and get 600 to 800 euros.

At this time, I will not sell for the moment my Avant. The only products that I find appealing right now, are the BL3, 9 et 5, not forgetting the upcoming BS5.

Hi Guys, both are good ideas. The UK had a CRT Trade in, I exchanged an Avant+Beo4 for 500GBP, thats gone now... the beolab speakers sounds good :), buy a really old manky one on ebay and give it to B+O hehehe

But in all honesty, its a bit boring as well, since the only 'offers' they do are warrenties, or if you can afford a TV and/or a surround sound system in one go, a free Beo5 (previous offer) wasnt thaaat amazing anyway...
What else could they do? What would be the killer offer, without presumably reducing the price?

lease purchase like cars with option to buy or upgrade with residual value?will be a win-win situation for B&O!!!!!!

I have read on another thread, that they are doing an offer on TV (1000 Euro if you bring your old CRT), and another offer on speaker (800 Euro if you bring an old Beolab).

Not sure this offer are true, as I have not seen them on the official web site. Not sure if they apply to all countries.

It is not a measure that will trigger a sale, but the absence of a long enough warranty can stop some potential sales.

Some clients may be OK spend a lot of money in a TV set or a pair of speakers, but want their investment to be protected. Out of warranty B&O repairs are really expensive.

It also give a sense of high quality if a brand offers a long warranty.

I have a B&O store about 15km from my house. I am in the mood to buy something interesting (better than lose it all in the stock market these days) but there is nothing that excites me or that I would want or need...... again, not in the mood for $20,000 TV/speakers. I have a nice TV that was MUCH less....

Is this a UK offer or is it worldwide (EU)? I have paid for my BS4 on the 30th of September ( figures... ) and am still waiting to receive it, so I'm wondering if I'm entitled to this 4/5 year warranty. Any ideas?

No denying that. BC2, after so many years, still looks like a 'wow' product. Expensive, but superb.

I see what you mean for the DVD free BV7, but i think half the wow factor is that DVD player. I guess, its probably better not to have many eggs in one basket, i.e. more seperate units since they are cheaper to replace/repair/upgrade.

This is aimed at BC2 owners, whom now can go for a BV7 without having to waste 50% of its BC functionality. To me this makes all sense.
