Faisal,

To review the service counters and other information, with the AVANT in "Standby" press the "Menu" button on the Beo4, the menu will appear on the left of the screen select "setup" and press GO then press 0 0 then GO and you are in the service menu

Thanks for the reply. My DVD player is philips 727 k. i don't know if its supported or not.

I will get my delivery today. The seller has 2 avants and has given me the choice to pick one. Any idea how to get into service counters and find out which tube has been used less.

Welcome back to Beoworld Faisal,

I will take your last point first, the AVANT US type # 8490 user guide is on the B&O main web site. You need to log into "Community" to get to the downloads, so just register and you will have the user guide.

The following is the connections panel of an AVANT US model

You can use the DVD input to connect your DVD player and you will need to check if your DVD player is supported by the STB controller. Also, if you don't have one you will need a "IR" transmitter which plugs into one of the two "CTRL" sockets and the transmitter itself is stuck on the front of the IR receiver of the DVD player.

Hi Everybody,

I am back after a long absence. I have now relocated to Toronto. Any beoworlders here?

I have purchased an Avant (US Model). Does anybody know how to attach a dvd or cable box to it using the IR socket provided at back of avant and use beo4 or control it vis the cable box remote and keep the box strapped at the back.

Also what else should i keep in mind. I unfortunately do not have the user manual and b&o site has none either.

Any help will be really appreciated.
