Hi Heribert,

Unfortunately I'm not much of a tech expert so I'm only able to relate how my BS3200 behaves. If the door mechanism is faulty it's certainly possible that you might not hear anything, despite the fact the light comes on.

However, the light should definitely go off when the system is switched to standby.

I'm guessing you don't have access to a Beo4 remote to test how the system responds to it?

Would I hear a motor if the mechanism is broken? There is simply no hear/seaable response (expect the light). The light is going on once I move towards, but then never goes off again... Should not it turn off when the system is switched to standby?

Hi Heribert,

With my BS3200's doors locked there is no response from the unit at all when waving a hand in front of it. If you're seeing the light come on I suspect there may be an issue with door mechanism.

Dear all,

Is there a way to find out if the doors are locked without a BEO4 remote? I have a used BS3200 and the doors simply do not open. If I move towards the system the light goes on, but the doors remain closed...

Once you get used to using the door locking command it's quite easy to maintain the doors in the locked position until you require them opened for CD loading. I use it consistently with my BS3200 to avoid any feline related entanglements.

As stated, you use the same code again

To unlock the glass doors press SHIFT 9 0 3 6 9 with no more than 2 seconds.
The display shows “UNLOCKED”.

This could be an interesting solution for me as well. But when they are locked, how do you open the doors again in order to load a CD? Many thanks in advance for your explanation.

But then the sliders would still be triggered to open and the lights would burn brightly. Not a good idea to let it remain in this state.

Hi guys,
I have a BeoSound 3200 in a non-B&O cabinet. When I close the doors of the cabinet, the doors of the BeoSound remain open. How can I deactivate the IR sensor so that the doors of the BeoSound will close? And if I do this, how will I then be able to open and close the doors of the BeoSound when I want to change CD?

I was thinking that would be a bit of a pain! However probably more sensible! The sensor is marked in the service manual.
