Stay with the Avant would be my advice. You say you would use it as a link TV. Why not just buy another Avant for this, they are cheap enough these days. We though of going from a BV3-32 to a BV8-32 a while back. Mainly because SWMBO wanted something slimmer. In the end we kept the BV3.

I agree that unless you are going for a big screen HD is largely pointless. You may wish for something smaller than your Avant but that is a CRT vs Flatscreen issue not an HD vs SD one!

i think you'd have to go to c. 36-40" to see a real difference between well upscaled dvd and hd , but there IS a difference

graham....i know..i know...the avant does look big in the corner..and i do have another use for it as a link set.....and it looks "heavy"....but a 30" LCD playing a blue ray..next to a avant playing a standard DVD....would i see a difrence ?

but if i wanted to go HD i have been persuaded off BV732..a 40 would be far too big, so another plan occured to me BS3 and a non-B&O panal of 30" or so
worth it or not ?...i also have BC2 ( dvd) and the house is master linked,.i am presuming the BS3 will cope with the ML and stuff, and my plan was also to buy a cheap(!) blue ray as a player....
anybody care to comment?..good plan..bad plan...i dont mind being wrong !

Why oh why do you want HD if you are wanting a 28in set and for the same reason why Blu-ray?

You won't notice the difference at that screen size so why spend the money. If you are intent on giving money away then let me know and I'll give you my bank account details!

yes..sorry....i also have 2 lab 4000, 2 lab 6000 and a sub....so yes surround will be needed to!

Do you need surround sound?

If not... wait until the BV8 32 is updated with an internal DVB-T Tuner.

BV8 has a much smaller frame than the BV7 and is cheaper.
