Fantastic - thanks guys, I will be stopping of at Maplins on my way home - I didn't think it would be that cheap to get the converter, that's great, thanks again. I'll also check speaker settings.

I have SKY+ connected as per the previous post. My Avant displays PRO LOGIC however if I select Sky Movies it displays DIGITAL when broadcast.

(p.s. you have to have front & rears speakers selected in "MENU>SPEAKER TYPE" first otherwise it displays nothing)

Question about Dolby Digital/Avant

I have a Philips DVD player connected to my beovision avant which is fitted with Dolby 5.1 board, the DVD sound goes through a seperate cable to the phono input on the back of the TV and sounds amazing - which is how I guess it should sound. My SKY+ is connected with a SCART cable but most of the sound comes through the TV Speakers, on the back of the sky box there is an optical output for the Dolby but no phono/Analogue output - does this mean that the only way to get Dolby Digital is through the optical output. If so is there a converter available? or another way?

Also the top panel on the Avant doesn't display if it's Dolby Digital etc. - Should it do this, my old avant used to and that was Pro Logic.

Any help much appreciated.
