The fact that you can play the sound of the tv through the ouverture means you are nearly there. If you wish pm me and I will give you my mobile and I can talk you through, its probably easier that way!!!!!!!!!!

yes, if I had a surround module in my Avant, I would connect the speakers to it ;-(

Yes, I switch to the DVD player by selecting CDV on my Beo4, but then I can not listen to the sound through my Ouverture. Do you think a newer Beo4 (with DVD button) would fix this?

Hi Christof.
If I had the same set-up, I would have the speakers connected to the Avant. Which speakers are you using?
On an older Beo4, look in your 'list' for CDV, it is the equivalent of DVD. I don't think you can do AV CDV though.

Hi all,

I am the proud owner of a BeoVision Avant (VHS) and a BeoSound Ouverture, both about 10 years old. I have now connected them for the very first time with a MasterLink cable, in order to be able to listen to movies through the loudspeakers that are connected to my Ouverture.

This works perfectly when I watch to a movie on TV: I press AV+TV on my Beo4, and get the TV sound through my Ouverture.

However, when I am watching a DVD from my externally connected non-B&O DVD player (connected via SCART), this does not work. When I press AV+TV on my Beo4, I still get the TV sound (and NOT the sound from my DVD) on my Ouverture.

I ASSUME that this might work when pressing AV+DVD on the Beo4, but my Beo4 does NOT have a DVD button. Plus I don't know whether this would help...

Any hints?
