Another vote for the S45-2's!

I bought a couple of fairly grubby pairs for very little money from a local ebay seller when I first started buying older B&O at the beginning of last year.

I had bought them as a stop-gap assuming I would upgrade to something better before too long. I have now restored them from their previous shabby condition and use one pair with the Beosystem 5000 that I purchased a few months ago and I have no plans to upgrade them in the short or medium term. Thay sounded pretty good with my Becenter 7000, and awesome with my Beosystem 5000, putting many newer speakers to shame.

They are very good speakers. I have read here and elsewhere that they lack Bass, but to be honest it is not something I have noticed personally as there is more than enough for bass me. A capacitor kit from Martin would be a sound investment, but it is a no-lose situation as you will almost certainly be able to sell them for more or less what you paid if you don't like them, which won't be much!

I have used S120 but i use RL6000 now as the S120 had too much foam rot. A RL60 would be good too, and is not expensive.

Agree with S45-2 but if you want more bass, the S75 or S120 will be more suitable. The S120 does suffer from foam rot though.

I suggest S45-2. Excellent sound quality, usually available on eBay at reasonable price and don't suffer from foam rot.

I'm interested in some opinions about the best B&O speakers to use with a Beosystem 5000 system recently purchased without speakers. It's impossible to listen to all of the Beovox models that can be used with this system, but I'd be interested in whatever opinions or observations people are willing to share. For example, which speaker models have better bass response; which speakers should be avoided; and how difficult it is to replace cones, related costs, etc. Thanks in advance to all those who reply!
