I am aware of the tight tolerance of the RL140 woofers, that's the rason I wanted to figure out, if other Red Line speakers were ussing the same woofers so that I eventually could treain myself in foamreplacement on a cheaper Red Line.

I probably follow your advise and contact a fora replace professional. I have had phone contact with one in Denmark already. Will aks for price.

Best regards

Nis

Re: Red Line woofers compatibility

Hi Nis,

I believe the bass drivers/woofers are specific to the RL140's and not interchangable without altering the speakers acoustic qualities. The only real option is to refoam them but be warned that these are amongst the most unforgiving of B&O speakers with very tight tolerances. If you have never done this type of work before then I would advise against doing it yourself as any misjudgement will ruin/wear the drive coils rendering them useless.

Member Dillen (Martin) is experienced with these bass drivers and may be able to help you here.

Chris.

Red Line woofers compatibility

Hi,

I have recently purchased a pair of RL140. The guy selling them, said the bass wasn't perfect indicating woofer rubber problems and yes, both woofers in each cabinet suffers from foam defect.

I would like to try replace the foam myself, but would like to try out on a nother system first. Therefore my question is:

Which other Red Line speakers are using the same 16,5cm/6½" woofers as the RL140? I eventually will trey dind a smaller/cheaper Red Line speaker with same woofer as the RL140 to try out the replacement of foam.

Best regards

Nis Sorensen
Denmark
