Hi If you have a BV3-28, you may need a ML Module also. since ML was optional.

I'm almost certain i could get away with cutting the cables with a proper junction box i'm quite good at that sort of thing, but IS is possible to link these 3 ML products?

A junction box is available from Bosscom ( http://uk.bosscom.com/ ).

You may also get a similar one from B&O, but it is not normally sold to clients, it is usually used by dealers to quickly change the setup.

Otherwise you can cut the cables wire them together, but I would not recommend that to you.

B&O also sells a smaller junction box but it also requires cutting cables, so not for you.

As a general rule, all B&O devices needs to be connected by ML as it is what makes them communicate.

Thank you Ralf you're a legend!! the thing i don't understand is, what is connected to what?? The BV3 must be connected to ML but what's the ML connected to?

I do understand that BC1 needs to be connected to BS4 via master link, but how do I tie in the BV3's master link connection, there's no sockets left... is this where a "junction box" is needed?

Ok, Dave, since I will bring my BV 3-32 to get serviced tomorrow, I can't watch soccer on the big screen.

Using my time to help you out (at least I hope so).

Picture show the setting I have chosen in the product config guide.

Results are:

Connection Video

The TV requires an HF Modulator Kit, type 4016.
Order no. 1401600

Connect the aerial to the aerial input of the TV-set.

Selecting option on the TV-set

Option: OPTION 1 (Factory setting), with Beo4

LINKED RADIO needs to be activated in the TV's OPTIONS menu

Note!

It is not possible to view CAMCORD in the main room while viewing DVD
in a Link room.
The main room source will follow the Link room source, and vice versa

************************* AUDIO SYSTEM SETUP **************************

BeoSound 4
BeoLab 4000

Connection Audio

Connect the Beolab to the POWER LINK socket on the audio
master using a Power Link cable.

The second POWER LINK cable socket on the Beolab enables signal
loop-through to the second Beolab using another Power Link cable.

Connect the aerial to the aerial input of the audio master.

When using the remote control mute function, sound is
restored by turning the volume up or down.

Setting switches on the Beolab

Set the MODE switch to position L or R to determine whether the
loudspeaker should serve as a left or right loudspeaker.

Option: AUTO configurating (option 1)

Connection

Connect the Master Link socket of the audiomaster to the MASTER LINK

Connection

An option

be programmed before the Link TV is connected to the

In you config you won't be able to transfer the sound of the BV3 to the BS4. You'll be able to transfer the BC1 sound on the BS4 though, and vice versa.

Cheers! Yeah the speakers will remain connected to the BS4, too bigger difference in the sound from the BV3 which is poor on comparison.

It is a software for PC, so you need to download a fake "pdf" file and rename it to "exe" before you can execute it.

You'll find info in the Beovision 3 ref guide here:

However, if the speakers are connected on the BS4, you should use option 5 not 6.

Thanks! Sorry you were typing HF i wasn't sure what you meant! I just had a fiddle with the BV3 and saving channels is different to the MX by the looks of it...

Basically if the DVD signal from the BC1 is sent to the BV3, the way of watching it on the BV3 means pressing TV to access it?

I found the software, but i'm a mac user so i can't use it, oh well was a good idea!

The RF cable is the Antenna cable.

Ah! Thanks we can call that a blonde moment i won't mind!

So does anyone know what i'll need, to do my linking of these 3 products?

I want the BV3 to be the BC1's slave, and the BC1 and the BS4's to be friends.

*edit* Thank you p.! Thats really confusing but i'll check that out... the config program is on the B&o site? **what is an HF?

Set BV3 to option 5, BS4 to option 1, BC1 to option 2.

It should work... Try and download the Configuration software from the site and run it on your PC, enter your config and it should give you some indications.

I think where we are getting it wrong, is that the link frequency is to set the emitting frequency of a Master TV, not the reception frequency of a Link TV.

On my MX TV, to set the reception frequency, I have to tune like a normal channel and store it into channel 60, 61, 62...

Normally you connect the HF can ML cable between the 2 TV sets.

You press DVD in the Link Room and you verify that the other TV starts the DVD (not on the screen , but you should hear it moving.

Unplug the ML cable.

In the link room, press TV, then search the channel that shows the DVD.

Try and store that channel to a number that is Higher than max number for your TV. For example, if the max number of channel is 59, store it as 60 and 61 and 62 until you get un number where it refuses to store.

Replug the ML cable and test.
