It doesn't sound like the tube itself but more like something peripheral with a bad connection.

Beovision 3-32 - Tube turning off (but seems to work again)

Dear Forum,

I had some strange behavior of my main TV set today.

All of the sudden the TV turned off. When pressing TV again, just a single green flash in the middle of the screen and off it went again. Radio and CD worked well (the set is masterlinked to a Beosound 3000) - probably because the tube stays turned off in this mode.

I disconnected everything. Started it again after 10 mins. I would turn off again, but on the second try, it stayed on - some very small green flashes at different places on the screen that stopped after just a few seconds. Now everything works again, but I am worried...

Should I take the set to a dealer to service it? We are a non-smoking household, not pets.

I learnt, that the TV will sort of protect itself if it suspects an issue, but I have no idea, if it will be save to use the tv.

Appreciate any comment on this issue.

Ralf

PS: We had a used Avant whose tube broke after appr. 10 years, but if this happens to the BV 3-32 only being 5 years old, I cannot see the point in spending appr. 4.000 Euro on a high-quality set that won't last.
