It's possible that it could be controlled with the DVD controller, however I'm not sure if it's on the list of controllable players.

Anybody used the DVD 2 yet?

A DVD2 is not philips all the way. A beo4 is the only remote that works via scart.

... or you would need a DVD controller... but I am not sure it controlles every DVD out there...

I shouldn't think Beo4 will control it, or it would also control other similar Philips products, and Philips remotes would then control certain B&O products. The code strings will be different, but please don't ask me what they are. I think you'll need to use two remotes: the Philips and Beo4 ... not a neat solution.

Going back to earlier posts, if the DVD2 is indeed a Philips DVDR7310H inside like Peter and David mentions. I don't mind to get one and hide it to save up for other Beolabs but do you think if Beo4 can controls it?

A videomaster with PUC-controller does not need pin 8. It knows if the player is on/off... But you will need the composite for linkrooms.

It uses the scart connection to know if the DVD is powered on or off (pin8) and for link signal...

Thats correct. Scart is not used for using PUC.

Still, you need to have scart or at least cvbs, to be able to watch dvd in the linkroom. The videomaster needs cvbs to modulate the video over the RF-cable.
