The link system always has used the left and right audio outputs of any source for sound distribution. It has nothing to due with whether the source has HDMI, SPIF or optical outputs. It is part of the reason B&O always wants all cables connected to any source. Even with HDMI or component video you still need to connect the composite video signal for source power management to work. B&O uses multiple signals in many ways to get the best sound and picture. Part of the magic.

Not really B&O's doing....many of the problems surrounding HDMI are caused because it was designed to copy-protect digital programs, not to provide the best performance, or convenience. Making the analog audio connection gives the BV-7 an 'unprotected' source which it can distribute with no trouble.

If you'd bought the clock radio you wouldn't get sound from the TV no matter how hard you tried.

To be fair it does seem a bit silly that you have a system that uses one cable but need another cable to connect the same two pieces of equipment. To be fair the other way, I don't suppose the Sony distributes sound around the house.

I don't get the issue? The BL3500 is a stereo speaker. A scart lead will do a perfectly good job of carrying stereo audio from the Sky box to the TV and the BV7 will then distribute it over your link system. It won't make any difference to the way the BV7 and Sky work. The sound and picture for that will still come over HDMI.

What's the problem with connecting a Scart lead up? Since it won't be used for picture you can get a really cheap one. Depending on the length you can get one for less that a fiver.

Why do people think that because a TV has HDMI it's a problem to runa scart along side it? I don't get it.

Guys I need your HELP

I have a BV7 mk3 in the Lounge Room, in the Kitchen is a BL3500 this is ML to the BV7.

The BV7 has Sky+HD connected to the DTV and using HDMI on socket A

When I press DTV on the BL3500 I hear nothing no sound, but all other sources work.

It used to work when I had SKY on the scart lead.

Any Ideas, or it the audio not TX across ML from a HDMI source.
