Relatively simple question. We really like the Beosound 1, heard it in the dealers sometime ago and was impressed by the rich sound that comes from a relatively small machine. But does it play MPEG 3?

Simple No.

But there is a work around.

Buy a cable that fits i.e. an iPod and the Beosound 1 (Lee can help you out if you want)

Then select A.Aux on the Beo4 or (from memory) press CD << and CD>> simultaniously for the same result.

Now start your portable music system and you have your compressed music through your BS1.

No (not throught the CD player) but the aux in and an iPod or Airport Express quickly solve that problem.
