Purchased a MK1 from 2002 last year and it has a far better picture than my 2005 BV6-26. Cannot say how it compares with the BV7 but I suppose there would not be any major differences between a BV6 and the BV7 in picture quality. However, what I am a little concerned about is that at least my BV5 is kind of noisy. Suppose it is the fans used to cool down the plasma screen which creates the noise. This should perhaps be taken into account when deciding.

The BV5 is also very good if you need to hide STB, HDR etc behind it.

/Emil

Re: Beovision 7-32 or BV 5 both second life

In theory, but i've never heard of one 'burning out' to this day.

With regards to Moxxey's comment - i actually started typing about the BV7-40" Mk3 being a superb LCD image, but then deleted it as it wasn't actually the question. The 7-32" to my mind isn't as good a display as the BV5 non-HD. You also need to factor in the thought that for a while yet you will mainly be watching non-HD films and tv programmes anyway.

I can also vouch that a good quality digital source will look superb on a '5' - plus also take into account that the BV5 has a screen 10" bigger!

Don't get me wrong, i love the styling of the BV7 - it's really quite beautiful in it's design and the 7.1 is a truly superb tv speaker, plus the inbuilt DVD player is a real bonus - but at the prices they are now, the BV5 is storming value...

Lee

Re: Beovision 7-32 or BV 5 both second life

About 60000h in theory

Re: Beovision 7-32 or BV 5 both second life

Some interesting points here. How about the screen life of the plasma (4 years old)

How long will it survive?

Re: Beovision 7-32 or BV 5 both second life

9 LEE:

Personally i think the Plasma has a better, more natural image.

Other way around in my (and my dealers) opinion. Compare a BV7-40 MKIII with a BV9 and the BV7 shows a more natural image, whereas the BV9 was much more 'deep' in its colour rendition, particularly with reds.

However, I do prefer the smoother appearance of the plasma image. Sometimes the BV7 can be too pin sharp. Some HD images on the BV7-40 look too good. Plasma smooths these and they look more real.

If I had the choice between BV7-32 and BV5, I'd go for the BV5 for now and give that a good couple of years.

Re: Beovision 7-32 or BV 5 both second life

A BV7 from 2005 is Not HD ready.
