Thanks for the reply

No wonder such a good machine sells so cheap on ebay!

I did find elsewhere on the forum that one can use play and eject on the machine

so if one just wants to play videos and not record it would be a good machine to buy

and would work ok as a player with any TV set

This is correct. The VX 7000 will play and eject, but it will not fast-forward or rewind until the tape finishes. The Beo 4 does not work with any other tv except a B&O. Looks as if I will have to get an old fashioned VCR for viewing tapes properly.

Re: What remote works alone with a B&O VX7000 VCR?

True, but if you want to use it in this way, get a VX5500 which has far more controls on the machine itself. The only advantage of a VX7000 really is the extra head and faster rewind speed, neither of which will matter in this application.

Re: What remote works alone with a B&O VX7000 VCR?

Thanks for the reply

No wonder such a good machine sells so cheap on ebay!

I did find elsewhere on the forum that one can use play and eject on the machine

so if one just wants to play videos and not record it would be a good machine to buy

and would work ok as a player with any TV set

Re: What remote works alone with a B&O VX7000 VCR?

It is possible to get an external sensor for the VX7000 though it needs to be hardwired into the machine. Quite tricky to find one though. The VX5000 has a socket for the same reason.

Re: What remote works alone with a B&O VX7000 VCR?

I'm sorry to say it but the VX7000 can only be remote controlled with a Beovision.

I use the same vcr and a LX5500. That works great together and it's controlled by a Beolink 1000 mk3.

When I bought the VX the seller wanted to make sure that I had a Beovision that the VX can work with. He had bought a flat screen tv non B&O.

I do belive that other Beolink 1000's and the Beo4 can control the VX too. The mk3 came with the Beovision.

What remote works alone with a B&O VX7000 VCR?

Hello. I'm new to this forum and have seen a VX7000 video cassette recorder which I want to buy but it has no remote. Looking on the web it seems that the remotes only work through B&O TV sets. I have a lovely Loewe TV which I want to use with the VX7000. Is this possible? Will the B&O remote tell the VHS what to do even though the TV is another brand? Which remote should I buy? Hope someone can help! Thanks in advance if you can!
