Tim, the key word there is 'believe'. Neither of us know. Dealers don't know. It may have a better panel, for example. The BV7-32 MKIII is a pretty decent TV and doesn't really require the BS3. The next revision will be a step-up as the chassis can only be an improvement.

Moxxey, you're 100% right... thats why my dealer told me he thinks b+o will do regarding the bv7... just passing the info, but youre right regardless

However, I agree with 355f. You will see a 'downgrade' by moving across to to the BV7-32, although a new version based around an improved chassis is due later this year. The current BV7-32 doesn't have any HDMI sockets, which are essential for the simple connection of modern equipment.
If possible, I'd wait. There's little point having Sky HD on the current BV7-32. Sky HD on the BV7-32 will be about the same if not a little worse than Freeview on your current Avant.

Andy, we were in the exact same position, i had the exact same avant and moved to the BV7-32, that was faulty and no hdmi, then i returned it and got a BV7-40. The BV7-40 IS an AMAZING TV, i have to agree, much like the avant. the 40'' has completly dominated my room since its bigger than the fireplace!!!!

Since you said that you have a bc2, id stay put ;) the avant is sweet and its better worth its money. id stay put, since with the money ur going to spend on the bv7, you could upgrade something, or start link rooming? wait for the bs5 etc etc?

you cant loose, if u choose to stay put or upgrade, you wont regret it, but i dont think its thaaaat much worth it. my 1080p, bla bla bla, bv7 can play hd. up to this very date i have yet to play ANYTHING HD on it! the hd sources are not available, im thinking about a ps3, but would like to remain with b+o for an hd solution, regardless if its integrated into a newer bv7.

worse case, why dont u get a cheaper bv lcd/plasma? use that in the living room, and link ur avant to it?

I also have a beocenter 2 DVD/DAB
now, i have some money to spend and was thinking of getting a BV7-32, the set is bigger than my Avany which is a downside at the moment. BUT, i also wouldnt mind upgrading to Sky HD and maybe a DVB with upscaling....
the DAB radio on the beocenter is sorted by having radio on Sky, the DVD is sorted by the beovison, but is the DVD player in the 7-32 better ?? does it upscale??
picture quality..better then a Avant or different ??...i sit probably 7ft away
should i buy new or s/h..will a mk2 7-32 be less good than a mk3..conncetions diffrent......screen differant ??
should i buy one with a built in dvb or get a topfield that has upscaling...
help or experinec would be helpfull..many thanks...i live in weston-super-mare so might have to go to bath to see...alex works at bath does he not ??

you should have headed this topic- should i downgrade to a BV7 32.

Picture is going to be worse for sure.

Dvd player in the 32 is soso- very dark images. In all cases picture quality will be worse

Keep what you have- B&O need to improve in flatscreens
