Hehe! Sorry, i didn't mean to insult at all, what i meant was exactly what i said though, i know i can be harsh in the deliver of my opinions at times - i'll extrapolate!

My house is very clean, minimal and modern (well matched to late 90's / early 00's B&O design) .

The penta labs today, in my humble opinion, are very difficult to place in a way that they fit in to compliment the environment they're in. I've seen some pictures of your home Andy and i can see that they would look FANTASTIC (post a picture!!), penta passives also do so in John Barkers impressive abode.

I agree that they look very 90s (which means that in the 80s they must've looked quite radical - can't remember seeing them back then). They would fit exactly in my mother's livingroom (furniture mostly rectangular black wood, with polished steel and brass accents). Still, the only things that I can see replacing these in my livingroom are a pair of Beolab Pentas...

Maybe I would like them more if their colour scheme was different (ie: less brown!), but I'm not to found of the column design either. Ok, the column makes it possible to create a rather big loudspeaker while still keeping the footprint small, but they are too tall to fit visually in my livingroom - most of my furniture are low, so the tall Penta columns mess up the visual balance. However, my main problem with them is the design and colour

I do like their sound though, this rant of mine only has to do with the looks of the Penta ;-)

Yes I totally agree. I bet you if B&O was still making the penta today, they would have cost a good arm and a leg.

Forgot to say this, I know I should have said this at the start of this fourm. I mostly just play vinyl and radio. I'm not too much of a CD fan I always prefer analog sound over digital. Hope the penta's sound nice with vinyl. I know, I'm starting to be silly now.

Yes of course,

One day I will let you all know what I think about the B&O penta speaker. If they are a speaker that stands around 5ft tall then that's fine, and the good thing to me is they are not WIDE!!!! Also, I assume they should work fine in my bedroom as the bass ports fires at the front, not the back thank god. Anyway, for now I have some saving up to do.

Look forward to hearing what you think of them, i expect you're going to be impressed, from all that i've read about how they sound and the genres you appreciate, i've never read a bad thing about their sound, except possibly the humble treble they produce...

Yes - there are binding posts. You expose the wires, and wrap them around the binding post, then screw the nut up to keep the wires in place. Unless I'm missing something, that's it!

Just bare wires then (For an expensive speaker!!) I was expecting binding posts on the penta's.

Yep - just chop them off. The binding posts are for bare wires!
