I have a similar problem, My Kikinoko DVD/hard disc recorder wants to connect two scarts to my Avant. One for input, and one for out.
In theory, I should be able to record onto the hard disc what I see in a window on the Avant screen. Never succeeded yet.
I should be able to see the DVD's menu whilst seeing the Avant's VCR picture.

I solved my quandary in a way because the scarts do output the source from the 'camcord' inputs which I can use for the purpose. However there is some bleed through from this input audible on DTV.

Can I set this scart up to output an incoming source? I am able to monitor TV/DTV/VTAPE/DVD from the 'decoder' scart via an external RF unit but not the signal from my Zune player. Both are connected to 'decoder' with a scart to 6 phono lead.
