It will work fine with any amplifier with a dedicated Phono input - you will need a DIN to RCA adapter though and an extra earth from the casing of the DIN plug to the earth on the amplifier.

I think your'e right, wouldn't it be possible to test the Beogram with a non-B&O? Just to make sure that the turntable isn't the problem?

I will check the DIN-plug as soon as I can, thanks for the help. I will post the results soon! :-)

Sending you an amp would seem prohibitively expensive then!

I am sure it must be the amplifier - Beograms are simple creatures and on the whole if the needle is working, there is not much else in the way. The fact you are getting some sound means that some signal is getting through. Always worth checking the connections in the DIN plug though!

j0hnbarker: The tracking weight is set to 1.25grams according to the meter on the arm.

Peter: I had another amp that was in near mint condition that I sent away for service and I'm still waiting for it to return, 1,5 years later... But I think you're right, testing it with another amp would be nice. I live in Malmö, Sweden.

That should be fine - you really need to try them with another amplifier. Where do you live?

Sounds like you are using it without an RIAA - maybe with a Beomaster 6500, 7000 or Beocenter 9300.

Hi!

I have a Beogram 5005 and everything works fine but one thing; The soundquality is crap! Theres some distortion and the base is no where to be found ( This is the case for both my two Beogram 5005 and my 5000). What would you suggest? Buy a new needle or try to find one of those famous mute switches? ;-)
