Hi,

The Sonos kit has both Audio In and Audio Out. I know for a fact that I can use a DIN > RCA lead from the BS9000 Aux socket and switch to the Sonos using A.Aux.

What I also want to do is have an Aux Out to the Sonos so I can use a Sonos Zone player in my garden playing the same music as the B&O kit indoors.

1. Can I use the same AUX socket on the BS9000 for Audio Out?

2. I obvously dont want to change the 'Option' on the BS9000 if I use this mechanism as I still want the same behaiour through by speakers.

3. Has anyone had any experience of using the SPDIF connection on the BS9000? Is it permanently switched on to output whatever the BS9000 is playing?

Hi - am I right in thinking then that if I connected a Beocord Cassette Deck with Datalink 7 Pin Din into the converters Aux socket it would respond to A.Tape commands? through Masterlink? and a similar turntable would do the same through Phono?

That confirms what I thought but I wasnt sure.

Many thanks for the clarification. It looks like I will need an extra long Aux lead to my BS9000.

Any ideas what sort of degredation I can expect with a longer lead? I noticed you can get a 10m lead but I dont want to compromise the sound quality.

Makes sense but I don't think it can work that way unfortunately. The Beolink converter needs a device with the correct abilities to register that it is there and be controlled by the link system. I think A.Aux will continue to just turn on the BS9000. To work anything through the Link system, it has to be the audio master and this is at present the BS9000. You can only have one audio master - anything else will be a slave and will work in the link room where it is and no where else.

Thanks for the reply.

In short, yes it works with A.AUX in the BS9000 room and link rooms when plugged into the Aux of the BS9000.

My issue is more of a wiring one. It is not convenient for the Sonos equipment to be located any where near that room, I want to hide it away somewhere which is not in the same area as the BS9000. Hence I would like to utilise the Link cable instead which alread runs past the area where I want to locate the Sonos.

I think you need a 7 Pin connection and the prerequisite codes. Can't you just select A.Aux in your link rooms? Won't it play via the BS9000?

Hi,

I have recently purchased a Sonos system to integrate with my B&O Setup and have been very pleased.

I am using the RCA out from the Sonos into the Aux on my BEOSound 9000 - no problems.

However, what I would really like to do is connect the Sonos via the Link system and wondered if I could use the same RCA > Aux DIN cable plugged into a BEOLink Converter on my MasterLink.

Questions:

1) Can anyone tell me if this is possible

2) If so, would I still select A.AUX to select the Sonos?
