I've refoamed lots of these and they are quite tricky (but not the hardest in the world). The main problem is centering the cones correctly or you end up with rubbing coils which sound horrible and will ruin the drivers completely.

Hi Peter - never refoamed before so it'd be my first attempt! Is it difficult to get right or is it worth replacing the whole drivers since the speakers are from 1987? Would the re-foam be adequate or will the woofers stand a good chance of being knackered? Cheers.

I suppose it depends on how good you are at refoaming! Much cheaper and you have quite a few to do! Equally B&O cable is not cheap - consider Maplins as an alternative and make up your own.

New woofers are around £25 each and can still be ordered from your B&O dealer as are speakerlink cables.

As an alternative you could buy the plugs from an electronics supplier and make them yourself using ordinary speaker cable.

Hi all - lucky enough to have got myself 2 pairs of Beovox 50's (one aluminium) and one pair of 100s from a house undergoing a renovation so these were link rooms speakers from 1987 and the foams have gone on all speakers. Question is do I refoam using Goodhifi's kits or just get new 4" woofers for all to get the best sound and if so where and how much would I be looking to pay? Also, are the speakerlink cables still available as want to connect a pair of 50s to my bedroom system with my BC9000....
