I take it that you are using the BL5000 in two way mode. I have not seen a conversion chart but if you are using a one way TV, the first thing I would do is set the remote to one way for video signal. (I guess you have already done this). I would concentrate on getting the Beolink 1000 working first and then try the BL5000.
