I have Mark 1 handsets as well and have this walll charger in my livingroom.

I can confirm that the picture on the right is a Mark I phone.

Your picture actually means that B&O did make a Mark I pyramid wall charger and yours is the first one I have seen.

Hi Keith

Based on your picture, if the phone on the right is a mark 1, the shape of the contacts in my charger suggest it is made for a mark 1 phone - the pins around my phone are like the one on the left which would explain why it does not fit. Is this how you see it?

Makes no difference to my phone not fitting of course, but my curiosity has been piqued...

I standby my previous statement.

The bases of the Mark I & Mark II are as below

It should be noted that if you place a Mark II phone on a Mark I base it will not fit because of the extra plastic around the pins as shown in the left picture above. However a Mark I phone WILL fit onto a Mark II base.

That is why people think that the new type wall charger was sold with the Mark I, but as far as I am aware it was not.

I think it is a Mk 1 charger because the phone doesn't seat properly - it wobbles and could well fall out. Doesn't charge either. If the contacts are different however, the difference must be subtle - it looks like it should fit.

I have one of these wall charger that looks like the alu base. It's for MK 1.

B&O did not produce as far as I am aware a wall charger for the Mark I Beocom 6000 like the current wall charger.

The Mark I & Mark II have different charging lugs at the bottom of the phone.

Does anyone know whether a BeoCom 6000 wall charger was produced which looks like the current brushed aluminium-clad version, but which only fits Mark 1 BeoCom 6000 handsets? I know there was an older version still (dark grey?) with a metal support for the phone, but I'm not talking about that one.

I recently bought one on eBay but it doesn't seem to fit my Mk 2 handset properly.
