We have the 7-4 with a pair of Beolab 9s and rear speakers and are very happy with it and do find voices to be very clear. We did bump up the level for the Beolab 7-4 just a bit above equal in sound to the fronts. You can do it by ear although we had a friend bring a sound meter over to measure exactly. Changing the settings to rear would make things worse as you will only get occasional sound, surround sound, from the rears.

beolab 7.4

Hi just a question, i have recently got a beovision7 mk3 with a beolab 7/4 center speaker, the system was set up with my beolab 8000 speakers as the front speakers in the set up by the b&o engineer. The playing of dvds is ok but in my opion with all three speakers active, the quality is swamped by the beolab 8000, ie a lot of back ground noise, i was under the impression the beolab 7-4 was predominatly for speach on dvd playing, the distance of the speakers seems accurate and is set up is set up as dolby 3 stereo.I realise with a sub woofer, and another set of speaker connected it would be better, but not practical at the moment.Would setting the beolab 8000s as rear speaker improve things?, and on my beosound 9000 play back from cd's is more superior on just the beolab 8000's alone.Any help would be great.

Cheers Paul.
