The large clamper 3000 and 3200 were the first models to be fitted with the matt finish control panel. All previous versions in the range had a polished panel.

If you want a matt clamper you should specify this with your dealer and he can fit it to the 3200 prior to delivery. Cost to the dealer is around £10-15 and the job will take 20 mins max.

Regarding the clamper, it is not a big problem changing it.

Do this mean:

1. that the BS3200 control panel finish is exactly the same as the BS3000 (I thought the products from the 2500-2300-Ouverture-3000-3200 range all had/have different polished vs. brushed alu finishes); and

2. that I can simply replace the BS3200 clamper with a spare BS3000 clamper to have a BS3200 with perfectly matching control panel-clamper finish (assuming I manage to find such spare BS3000 clamper)?

Since this is your 3 audiomaster, and it is to be used in a lobby, the BeoSound 3200 with the build in memory is the perfect product... Regarding the clamper, it is not a big problem changing it. The biggest problem is getting one.. And with that, your local pusher should be able to help.

Dear all, I need an audio master in my lobby (I don't want this specific room to be a link room connected to either my Beosound 9000 or my Beocenter 9500). I am thinking about the Beosound 3200, just because of the design. But I have a little issue (it may be a detail, but it is important in my eyes).

On the BS3000 (large clamper version), the clamper finish matches the finish of the control panel. In my opinion, this match is very beautiful. See hereunder a picture, which I took from Lifestyle AV (apologies to Lee if this is not appropriate).

On the contrary, on the BS3200, the large clamper is more gloss (like chrome) than the control panel. In my opinion, this mismatch is much less attractive. See in the next post another picture from LifestyleAV (same comment, Lee).

Now, my question is as follows: is there any way to replace the original BS3200 clamper and get one which matches the BS3200 control panel finish? Or I am obliged to buy a second hand BS3000 instead of a new BS3200 in order to get a matching clamper (as this match is much more important to me than the hard disk drive)?
