Think out of the box. Why stop at speakers...

I am quite sure it was because a EU directive about electric powered equipment. B&O was not able to redesign the circuits to meet the new criteria. It was the same story with the LC-2. It is not dangerous to use though!

I have a BL2000 in the past and for the kitchen I'd recommend it primarily because it has all of the functions on the unit as well as allows Beo4 Control. I will say that I think the BL3500 sounds better but the 2000 looks more robust and I believe is a better kitchen fit. One thing I find to be cumbersome with my BL3500 is that you are so limited to functions on the unit. I do not picture a kitchen as a place one would keep a Beo4 so under these limited circumstances I'd say the 2000 is a better choice.

I tend to agree with you. I've found that it helps to rinse the capsule holder each morning prior to use. Nespresso offers some far less expensive machines that actually store the used capsules in a reservoir. I have one such machine in my office, and it does not block as easily. Still, the Alessi machine is beautiful in it's design and looks so great in my kitchen with the BeoLab 2000. I actually designed my kitchen around the BeoLab 2000. Crazy -- I know!

I have a BeoLab 2000 in my kitchen - it's perfect for the purpose. I like being able to both use the Beo4 and to manually select sources, channels/stations and volume. The 3500 is supposed to be high up on the wall, and can't be used in that way.

I think BL2000 was discontinued because it couldn't be retrofitted to the wireless1 (?). I'd recommend it to anyone.

Also, the knob of the BeoLab 2000 matches this door lever from Valli & Valli. Can you tell that the BeoLab 2000 has been an inspiration for designing my loft?!

If you can find a BeoLab 2000, this speaker fits perfectly into the corner of the kitchen. The anthracite finish perfectly matches the Alessi espresso machine and the imperial grey KitchenAid mixer in both color and texture.

There are to different Link speakers: BeoLab 3500 and BeoLab 2000. The latter is not available new.

Other speakers need a BeoLink Active, which enables local control.

Speaker choice is up to you, you should consider space, placement and size.

Personally I use Beovox MCX35 with a MCL/ML converter and Master Control Link (the old type). The speakers are very very cheap and delivers OK sound. They are placed on top of a high self.
