Hi Mika,

the transformer is weighty but I'd be surprised if it could cause that much bending of the two metal retainers - they are quite strong and not that easy to bend.

If anyone is up to the job of repairing or replacing the internals so I have a working system I'd be grateful (I'm no electrician).

I think this may have happened during transit. Looks like the package may have been dropped or hit, and the weight of the transformer has cracked its retainers and the pertinax board.

Anyway, it looks like a quite simple power supply, and anyone half capable in electronics should be able to repair it, maybe replacing part of the circuit board with something new (pay attention to electrical safety!). If the case is OK, the power supply should look and work just like original.

I've just received a Beopower 600 which I've been looking for for a long time. Described as 100% original (eBay) so imagine my upset when on hearing it rattle, I removed the screws at one end and all of this 'fell out'. Looking at the state of what look like alloy retaining 'belts' my thinking is that these were damaged well before shipping. Any comments from anyone on this. Are these repairable? The outside is perfect with no sign of being dropped or abused. Also, in the products section, it states that the Beopower 600 can be used on the Beolit 600 (obvious really!) and also on the Beolit 500. I looked at both versions of my Beolit 500's and I can't see where it gets connected - again, any ideas from anyone.

It's holiday time here in Switzerland tomorrow so have a good weekend.
