In this case, I can rest assured to keep the BL 4000 as the rear speakers and sell the BL 8000. They were in the dining room and mostly used for background music, but I think the Beovison they were connected to was a 7 with the upright acoustic lens speaker under it. No Beolab 2.

Re: BeoLab4000 or 8000 as rear speakers with BeoLab 9 as front speakers?

Jandyt:

I have seen nine 4000s in one room!
Grand Hotel in Struer.

i assume that some, not all were in a 5 or 7 surround setup (doubled centers or fronts?)...
how did it sound? room size? would it need a bl2?

Re: BeoLab4000 or 8000 as rear speakers with BeoLab 9 as front speakers?

I have seen nine 4000s in one room!
Grand Hotel in Struer.

Re: BeoLab4000 or 8000 as rear speakers with BeoLab 9 as front speakers?

peter: that is interesting. i have a pair of 4000's -and i don't even use them!

anyone on here use a full complement of 4000's for all surround positions? hmmm...

Re: BeoLab4000 or 8000 as rear speakers with BeoLab 9 as front speakers?

BeoLab 4000s are ideal as rears, as they can be positioned more flexibly than BeoLab 8000s and therefore positioned high up (which is where rear speakers should be placed).

Re: BeoLab4000 or 8000 as rear speakers with BeoLab 9 as front speakers?

I use 4000s as rears - I wouldn't want to spend more really. I have used a BS 3200, a Plasma surround, and ML link for 8 years now using the BL 4000 as front speakers ( on an old Danish Teak cabinet supporting the Plasma ) with BL 6000 as rear sound source. Sat TV, DVD, and music sources are all excellent in fidelity. My wife and I watched one of the " Foyle's War " DVDs last night, and the surround sound was clear, crisp, and remarkable.

No complaints, not even from the neighbors.

BeoLab4000 or 8000 as rear speakers with BeoLab 9 as front speakers?

Hi

I have a BeoVision 3 with a surround sound module fitted. Right now, I am using BeoLab 9 as the front speakers and BeoLab 8000 as the rear speakers. I have BeoSound 3200 connected to a pair of BeoLab 4000 for now, waiting for the MasterLink cable to arrive before linking the BV 3 and BS 3200. I am very impressed with the BL4000 (still the old MKI) but feel that BL8000 lacks deep bass although they are the upgraded models. I am wondering if I should keep the BL4000 as the rear speakers or the BL8000? I listen to music as well as watch movies. Many thanks.

Regards
