Has the best mechanical deck and also has the TDA1541A DAC in it. I have most types of B&O CD player and my favourite to listen to is probably the CDX. It isn't quite as detailed as CD players can be - I have heard it through the very top of the line Naim system - but it is very pleasant and not tiring.

It would be interesting to get someone like Adam to do a comparative review of all the types - he has listened to more CD players than anyone else here!

Re: Best Bö CD Player?

CDX

CD50

Re: Best Bö CD Player?

What are CDX and CD50 for players ?

Re: Best Bö CD Player?

Depends on the amplifier/speakers too, if you're using BeoLab 5s, then as long as the CD player has a digital output, there's no need to worry about the differences.

With something like a pair of CX50s, CX100s or some of the smaller 'S' range of speakers, I doubt you'd hear much difference!

Re: Best Bö CD Player?

The CDX & CD50 both produce a warmer more "analogue" type of sound than the others in the B&O range.
